Inclusive Practices
I am committed to collective justice, joy and liberation for folks of all races, ethnicities, abilities, sexualities and genders. I am dedicated to providing culturally-responsive, neurodiversity-affirming care with special considerations for folks who identify as Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA2S+, neurodiverse/neurodivergent and folks living at the intersections of marginalized identities and experiences.

Decolonization in the Therapy Room
As a therapist dedicated to holistic, liberation focused somatic psychotherapy, I am committed to the decolonization of myself, my practices of therapy and society. My work is guided by the principles of Afrocentrism, recognizing the importance of cultural heritage, community, and interconnectedness in healing and well-being.
Commitment to Liberation:
I am dedicated to challenging all forms of discrimination, oppression, and inequality. I believe in the inherent dignity and value of every person, embracing diversity across race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status. I strive to provide a safe, inclusive space where every client is deeply seen, heard, and respected, with a focus on fostering empowerment and liberation for all.
Values and Principles:
1. Cultural Empowerment:
I honor and celebrate the rich cultural histories and identities of my clients, particularly those experiencing marginalization with emphasis on African Diasporic backgrounds. By integrating cultural context into therapy, I aim to empower individuals to reclaim their narratives and foster a sense of pride and resilience.
2. Community and Interconnectedness:
I recognize the importance of community and collective well-being in the healing process. Drawing on Afrocentric principles of interconnectedness and communal support, I encourage clients to build and strengthen their connections with family, friends, and community networks.
3. Holistic Healing:
I use a somatic, whole body approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. I strive to involve the whole person in the healing process, acknowledging the impact of systemic oppression and trauma on physical and emotional health. Through body-centered practices, I support clients in finding balance, healing, and empowerment.
4. Advocacy and Education:
I am committed to advocating for decolonization of the mental health field and beyond. This includes educating myself and others about the historical and ongoing impacts of racism, ableism, sexism, and other forms of oppression. I actively seek to challenge and dismantle these systems through my work and community involvement.
5. Accessibility and Inclusivity:
I strive to make my services accessible and inclusive to all individuals, particularly those from communities experiencing marginalization. This includes offering sliding scale fees, providing resources, and creating a welcoming environment that respects, values and celebrates diverse perspectives and experiences.
You deserve identity-affirming, culturally-responsive mental health support that acknowledges the wholeness of who you are. I am here to provide it.
