Harmony Smith, M.Ed., LPC Associate, LMFT Associate

Hi, I’m Harmony. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Texas.

I’m also a mom and a warm-hearted, idealistic, neurospicy, highly sensitive person.

If you’re reading this, especially if you’re a Black parent, millennial, or Gen Z adult, I already know you’re probably carrying a lot. Not just the visible stuff, but the mental load, the emotional labor, and the constant pressure of having to keep it together because people depend on you.

And you might be tired in a way that rest does not really fix.

You do not have to keep doing it like this.

When we work together, you don’t have to show up composed or have the right words. You don’t have to explain everything perfectly or prove that you are struggling enough to deserve support.

You can just come as you are. We slow it down from there.

My goal is for you to feel like you can breathe again. Like you are not holding everything alone. And like you can start to hear yourself again underneath everything you have been carrying for everyone else.

harmony’s therapeutic approach

As a therapist, I look at your whole experience, including what is happening in you and what is happening around you. You already know yourself in important ways, even if things feel confusing or hard to access at the moment. My role is to help you slow things down enough to hear yourself more clearly again.

In our work, we explore what is happening in your body, your emotions, and the way you move through your life and relationships. I draw from somatic and experiential approaches, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, yoga-informed practices, and mindfulness-based tools, depending on what fits your needs in the moment.

I also honor healing traditions that center storytelling, embodiment, and connection to lived experience. Culture, identity, and context are always part of the work, not something separate from it.

Therapy with me is not about forcing change or rushing insight. It is about helping you feel more grounded in yourself, more able to notice what you need, and more able to trust your own internal signals again.

My education and training reflect the care and intentionality I bring to this work, including EMDR, somatic therapies, and a liberation-centered, trauma-informed approach to healing.
